Our children deserve access to the educational opportunities that will best prepare them to make well-informed decisions in a world where access to information will expand exponentially. The keys to success in the future will include not only knowing where to find information but also how to accurately assess and use it. The sitesALIVE Foundation is committed to giving teachers the tools and training that will enable them to serve as effective guides in this critical educational process.

Funds are needed to develop and deliver training workshops for teachers, to assist schools in purchasing on-line learning content, to support content provided through hybrid Newspapers in Education (NIE) programs, and to support Foundation operations.

A gift of $5000 can help bring interactive learning adventures to thousands of teachers, children and their parents through the NIE program in a major U.S. newspaper. Similar outreach through a community newspaper that reaches multiple schools and thousands of readers is possible with a donation of $1500.

A donation of $2000 will assist a school system in purchasing on-line teaching materials that bring relevance, substance and excitement to classroom learning.

Every teacher that gets trained goes on to impact scores of students. The average cost to train a teacher to effectively use computers and the Internet is $200.
