Advisors - Robert N. Shapiro
Rob Shapiro, a partner in the Private Client Group since 1987 and current head of the
department, specializes in estate planning, personal trusts, and charitable trusts. He is
also in charge of firm-wide associate training at Ropes & Gray. Rob is current
president of the Harvard Law School Association and the former president of the Harvard
Alumni Association. He serves as a Trustee of the Peabody Essex Museum and of Noble and
Greenough School, and has also been a Trustee of Phillips Exeter Academy. Prior to joining
Ropes & Gray, Rob taught English in the independent school system.
Rob graduated cum laude from Harvard College and earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard
Law School. He also studied at Trinity College of Cambridge University in England.
